Mr. Martin is self-employed as an Independent Consultant specializing in the nonprofit business sector helping nonprofit organizations develop their program infrastructure documents needed to establish their nonprofit organization status within the Internal Revenue Service in order for the organizations to receive their 501 (C) (3) status, and become registered and Incorporated in the organizations’ home State within the Secretary of States Corporations department as a nonprofit. He holds a Masters in Business Administration-Project Management and a Bachelor of Science in Human Services. He is currently a full-time graduate student working on his Doctor of Management with Colorado Technical University in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
His professional background spans over 17 years in the Human Services field working
with children, youth, and adults in the counseling, student advocacy, and crisis
intervention areas. He is an activist for Native American Indigenous Treaty Rights,
Human Rights, and Civil Rights. He has previously written newspaper articles
for Native American newspapers as a Letters to the Editor contributor as well
as becoming established as an Editorial contributor from 1997-2004.
During his distinguished educational endeavors he has received academic achievement
honors for being on the Oglala Lakota College Presidents Honor Roll during his
undergraduate studies, and on the Colorado Technical University Chancellors List
during his Masters degree program as well as his Doctorate degree program. He
has received numerous certifications in the Human Services field when he was
working with children, youth, and adults that included State of South Dakota
certification as a Family Services Worker in Child Protection Services.
Samuel’s activities include being a volunteer for nonprofit organizations
like Red Cloud Vision, and other community related functions that empower community
grassroots efforts. Samuel considers himself traditionally pro-active in cultural
activities that include the completion of a four year pledge as a Sundancer in
the early 1990’s, and current participant in other traditional ceremonials
and practices whether these are social or spiritual activities.
