I am Pamela Red Cloud and the founder of Red Cloud Vision.
I would like to cordially welcome all who are visiting our enlightening website and have interest in the current plight of the Lakota Nation. Those from our organization who are involved now and those who become involved share the dreams of Hope, Restoration, Empowerment, and true Relationships for our people. We know that our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual growth is an evolving experience.
I created this organization to promote these very dreams for the people of the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. We have many obstacles to overcome as a “culturally evolving Nation” and our organization will strive to restore and preserve the heritage the Creator has bestowed upon us.
We have many issues; alcoholism, drug addiction, gambling, neglect and the many abuses that stem from or occur with those very addictions. These spiritual handicaps and physical addictions impede the growth of and hope for our people. We are presently educating the tribe, organizations and groups to the extent of these issues. One of the main core issues to address, and one that is constantly overlooked, is the issue of sexual abuse which affects an estimated 95% of the people and families on the reservation in some way. We are in support of addressing and restoring the “Broken Spirits” that now exist. I continue to be a life long advocate for addressing this sickness, healing the wounded and the perpetrators, through a variety of healing and through the recovery processes. This very disease has no discrimination and has taken many to the next stages of addiction in every culture, race and ethnic background.
The Lakota on Pine Ridge Indian Reservation currently have extremely limited support services to adequately address and assist in the healing process. This process requires that the people have adequate understanding and knowledge of what it consists of to deal with this crippling sickness. Continued treatment for the addiction recovery is not working on its own (the average tribal member has received treatment 4 to5 times). Combining with Codependency Treatment, however (sexual abuse as the core issue to be addressed) will substantially help create the full circle essential to recovery process. As we progress with this program, we can see a better outcome for successful recovery as we see people witnessing the reality. Red Cloud Vision combines the addiction treatment which then identifies the issues and Codependency treatment deals with the issues, along with continuing support services.
Red Cloud Vision is taking on the task of creating and implementing assistance with support services through the development of a Co-dependency Treatment Center. I know this will greatly help to bring healing to the Lakota and maybe other nations as well. The program will address, heal and empower “the human spirit” in order to regain the will to live in this life as the Creator so graciously meant for us. It is with a humble heart my relatives and with my prayers that I ask you to consider joining us in our mission to provide healing and a great need of assistance to these who are broken and walking in the darkness so they may have the wonderful opportunity to see the light of their potential!
